University of North Bengal

The University of North Bengal was established in 1962 by an act of the Legislature of West Bengal with an aim to impart education through the means of teaching, training and research. Since its establishment, this University has focused on various disciplines of advanced learning. Another aim of this University is to promote knowledge in order to revolutionize the scenario of socio-economic and technical education.

North Bengal University offers education in Undergraduate, Post graduate, M. Phil and Doctorate programs. Students can also opt for higher studies like M. Phil and Ph. D programs at the University. Admissions are made on the basis of merit list only. Admissions under the under graduate and post graduate level are done on the basis of marks obtained by students in their 10+2 and 10+2+3 examinations. For admission in the research level programs offered by the University, a qualifying examination, followed by an interview is conducted.

The University played the pioneering role in producing skilled manpower to fulfill the need in the rapidly changing and developing technocracy.

The University is re-accredited by NAAC as B++.

NBU Faculties

The North Bengal University comprises the following faculties, namely:

  • Faculty of Commerce
  • Faculty of Law

All these faculties offer both under graduate and post graduate courses to the students. Research scholars can go for M. Phil and doctorate programs offered by the University.
