Vidyasagar University

The Vidyasagar University is one of the most important universities in educational scenario of West Bengal. This university is administered by the government of West Bengal and this university undertakes role of an affiliating and research university. Named after the educationalist and social reformer of West Bengal, Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, this university was established in 1981 by the Vidyasagar University Act. After nine years, that is 1990, this university was granted recognition from the University Grants Commission.
