University of Kalyani

The University of Kalyani was established in the year 1960 and is extended over an area of 400 acres. Located almost 50 km away from Kolkata, the main educational hub of West Bengal, this university has become a very important academic hub of sub urban region. Process of education is always dynamic, that’s why this university is continuously on a quest to up grade its affiliated colleges and post graduate study centers for imparting knowledge.

The University of Kalyani has reached a position of offering 23 post graduate programs through four faculties. Current teaching positions in this university are 217 and more than 2000 post-graduate students are enrolled. The administrative part of university of Kalyani comprises approximately 32 officers and 517 staff and they take of all administrative functionality happening under its jurisdiction.

In the process of expansion of its academic curriculum, this university has introduced two new faculties,

Student Facility in University of Kalyani:

The University of Kalyani offers all sorts of basic infrastructural facilities to students. Central library of the university is of quite good standard and for the purpose of enhancing computer awareness among students this university also contains a separate computer center. Sports facility in this university is quite well structured. Yoga center, gymnasium and all sorts of sports related accessories are provided to the students from the university authority.

There is a separate health care center in this university, which offers free medical check up to students, teachers and all those stuffs who are related to the University of Kalyani.

Admission in University of Kalyani:

Both for under graduate and post graduate programs the admission happens according to the merit list. Students are selected for their applied posts according to their marks obtained in their 10+2 level for undergraduate courses and 10+2+3 level, fore their post graduate degree courses. For M. Phil and Ph. D programs, students have to sit for a qualifying examination, followed by an interview. To sit for the qualifying examination, students are required to obtain at least 55% marks in their post graduation degree program.
